Is Back Pain A Problem for You?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, or you find the need for nurturing and relaxation, then the answer to the question "why massage?" is that it is beneficial for all these conditions. The common language of gentle touch can be reassuring, relaxation and healing. It can relieve pain and soothe tension. Above all, it is a demonstration that the therapist cares and the recipient cares for themselves, to allow time out to relax and be rejuvenated.

Massage is a form of healing, of enabling the body to help itself. A healing massage will help a person to relax and regain their sense of balance. A body and mind that feels supported and cared for will respond positively, by supporting us with a maintained wellness and balance.

Massage affects us on all levels. Physically its benefits include relaxing and toning the muscles, assisting venous blood flow, encouraging the lymphatic flow and stretching the connective tissue of the joints to name but a few.

On a mental level massage can relieve stress and anxiety, also it connects our mind to our body to enable us to become aware of our body as a whole. Holistic massage affects the subtle body i.e. the energy centres or chakras to bring balance into the "whole" , which is the mind, body and soul. Why massage? Massage is the quickest, surest way to create a sense of relaxation and well being. It is comforting, soothing, reassuring and makes us feel happy; it can make us feel better in minutes, clearing our minds to approach our lives with a new vision and vigour.
