What is Reiki?
Reiki, meaning “universal life force energy”, aims to improve health and enhance the quality of life. It treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and is currently used in hospices, hospitals, homes and complementary therapy practices. It is a form of “laying on of hands” with the person receiving the healing drawing as much energy as is required.
Whilst receiving the energy you may feel warm, or cool, and sometimes a tingling sensation may be felt. Sometimes no sensation is felt at all, but this does not mean that nothing has happened. Healing can occur on many levels: physical, mental, psychological and emotional.
What can Reiki help with?
How can Reiki help?
Reiki can help to calm the mind, releasing worries, fears, anxiety and anger. These are sometimes referred to as “blockages” in the free flow of energy. It is well documented that reiki relieves pain.
As an example, reiki is used in some American hospitals, both pre-operatively and post-operatively; it has been found that recovery time is shorter and fewer analgesics are necessary. It is also helpful in the treatment of addictions. Reiki can safely be used with any conventional medicine, homeopathy or herbal remedies.
Who can Reiki help?
Reiki can be safely used at any age and can be given to animals as well as humans. Anyone can benefit from this gentle energy.
