Marisa Formicola
With my roots in Italian culture and a love of travelling I first studied for a degree in Modern Foreign Languages. Since 1992 I have worked abroad (teaching English to adults and primary school children) and in Great Britain (teaching French and Italian to secondary school pupils) with bursts of interpreting and translating along the way.
My main reason for returning to the UK in 1994 was to re-train in a discipline, which had, by now, completely captured my interest - homoeopathy. Having been introduced to this 200-year old medicine by a friend, I was to find it extremely effective in curing several complaints I had put up with for years.
My fascination and passion for the subject has continued to grow. The results that can be achieved with homoeopathy have never ceased to astound me; a therapy which is gentle and free from side-effects so that it is safe for newborns, yet powerful in its ability to shift life-long energy blockages. Homoeopathy takes every aspect of the person into account and thus can stimulate change on many levels. The result is simply a better quality of life and a greater sense of choice in your everyday living.
My commitment to children's wellbeing and development is what attracted me to teaching, but ultimately what drove me to become a homoeopath. My aim is to support children through difficult times in a way which encourages them to flourish in both mind and body.
Having experienced both a hi-tech labour and a natural home birth, I was inspired to set up The Natural Birth Group to help instil confidence in mothers-to-be and reassure them that giving birth needn't be a medical procedure.
With a young family I presently work part-time from Woodbridge, Framlingham and Debenham clinics and enjoy every minute of it!
